A Bold Departure.
Cleveland Hopkins Transforms Vacant Building into Hub for TMDP
Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE) has completed renovations on a 22,000-square-foot building on airport property that will serve as a key hub for the Terminal Modernization Development Program (TMDP), a major component of CLEvolution, CLE’s long-term transformation effort.
The facility will support consultants and project teams as work ramps up. Over the next 10 years and beyond, the building will play a key role in planning, coordination, and execution of the airport’s modernization efforts, while also supporting broader airport operational and emergency management needs.
The building is also home to a new, dedicated Emergency Operations Center (EOC). In the past, when the EOC was activated, it had to be set up in a conference room inside the airport. This new space will be fully equipped and ready when needed, improving efficiency and emergency response readiness. The building will also support airfield training, adding another important operational use to the space.
The building was previously occupied by United as a training facility. The airport regained the asset in 2021, and it remained vacant until it was renovated and repurposed to support this work.
This investment reflects CLE’s commitment to creating a functional, long-term space to support one of the most significant efforts in the airport’s history. As CLEvolution moves forward, this building will help support the teams and operations driving that work.
