Through a partnership involving the City of Cleveland's Office of Equal Opportunity and CLEvolution partners, CLE's Terminal Modernization Development Program, CLEvolution, was selected as the inspiration for a mock Request for Proposal through the ACE Mentor Program of Cleveland. Jacobs team members Matt Wenham, Tom Defant and Allison Schmitt introduced the CLEvolution challenge to this year’s ACE Mentors on Sept. 8 at Cuyahoga Community College's Metropolitan Campus. Their challenge will focus on a mock project for developing airport concessions for the new terminal that incorporates Cleveland's local flavor and culture while considering the needs of airport travelers. The experience gives students an opportunity to apply what they're learning to a real-world scenario while gaining insight directly from professionals working in the field. Along the way, students can explore different career paths, ask questions and develop skills that could help shape their futures. The ACE Mentor Program also provides scholarships and educational guidance for students interested in pursuing careers in architecture, construction and engineering. Through opportunities like this, CLEvolution can have an impact beyond the airport by connecting the next generation of Cleveland's workforce with the people and professions helping build its future.
