The proposed eight-level garage is expected to provide approximately 6,000 parking spaces and include a new ground transportation center for hotel and rental car buses, as well as a new and relocated RTA Red Line station. Construction is expected to begin in 2027, following the opening of the new Gold Lot in spring 2027. This sequencing will help CLE maintain parking availability for travelers as construction progresses. The new garage is expected to open in 2029. Once the new garage opens, the existing parking garage will be demolished to make way for construction of the future terminal headhouse, which is expected to open in 2032. The garage, ground transportation center and relocated RTA station are part of CLEvolution, CLE's Terminal Modernization Development Program. Together, these improvements are designed to create a more connected and efficient experience while preparing the airport for its future. As planning continues, Cleveland and Northeast Ohio are also helping inspire the look and feel of future facilities. Feedback gathered through a sense-of-place survey identified the region's industrial heritage, bridges, culture and natural environment as elements that can help shape a distinctly Cleveland experience.
